Research

My research focus lies on epigenetic mechanisms in the intestinal epithelium. I am interested in the role of DNA methylation during intestinal development and how it affects regionalization by regulating gene expression. Furthermore, I investigate alterations in the gut epithelium in Inflammatory Bowel Disease using primary cells and human organoid models.
