Research

My research interests include performing clinical studies in food allergy. Previous work has investigated the clinical features of severe food allergy and defined the usefulness of allergy tests in this context. Recent work includes clinical trials of oral immunotherapy for severe food allergy, and a clinical study of population thresholds in peanut allergy. With the help of Dr Sabita Islam we investigate the underlying immune mechanisms of oral immunotherapy, including work with cell culure and FACS anaplysis of basophils, allergen-specific T lymphocytes and regulatory cells.
