Cambridge Immunology Network

 

Professor Dame Sally Davies, Chief Medical Officer for England, will deliver this year’s prestigious Annual Public Health lecture, entitled: The (In)Discipline of Public Health.

The lecture will follow the 2016 CIPH and Network annual public health conference, which will examine the interface between infectious diseases and non-communicable diseases.

Highlights include:

10.50 Talks – Bridging the gap: public health and the interface with infectious diseases – with Gordon Dougan, Ann Prentice and Margaret Stanley. Introduced/chaired by Aliko Ahmed

13.30 Talks – Risk and Susceptibilities across transmissible and non-transmissible diseases – with Ros Parkes-Ratanshi, Angelique Mavrovadis and Farida Mayanja. Chaired by Sheila Bird

16.10 Short talks – Translating knowledge across transmissible and non-transmissible diseases – with James Wood, Ashley Moffett, Nick Brown and Dani De Angelis. Chaired by Peter Bradley

17.20 Closing speech: Professor Carol Brayne

18.00 Annual Lecture: “The (In)Discipline of Public Health” with Professor Dame Sally Davies. Introduced by the Vice Chancellor of The University of Cambridge

Now in its third year, the Cambridge annual public health conference & lecture series presents an opportunity for researchers, policy makers, and other professionals working in the field of public health, to come together, discover and discuss the latest Cambridge University research breakthroughs in this area.

Poster Submissions:

We also have an opportunity for Cambridge researchers to showcase and engage new people with their research by presenting their poster during the lunchtime session of the conference. This is a major event which will be attended by national and international researchers, policy makers, and other professionals working in the field of public health. Posters can be on any topic relating to public and population health. You are welcome to present an existing poster, and if you haven’t presented a poster before we can provide guidance on how to go about it. Please submit the abstract for your poster to communications@iph.cam.ac.uk by 4 November 2016.
