The University has around 40,000 students and 6,000 employees.

The Lund Stem Cell Center (www.stemcellcenter.se), a part of Lund University, is an internationally ranked research center in the strategic areas of Stem Cell Biology and Regenerative Medicine.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to work full time on a project in the group of Associate Professor Ewa Sitnicka at the Division of Molecular Hematology (http://www.med.lu.se/dmh) at Lund University investigating how development of human lymphoid cells is regulated. This project will involve studies of human lymphopoiesis with focus on Natural Killer (NK) cells, using multilineage flow cytometry (FACS), transplantation models, disease mouse models, gene expression analysis down to the single cell level and other relevant state of the art technologies. The research aims to gain understanding of the molecular mechanisms governing the lymphoid lineage restriction and the commitment towards the NK cell lineage.

We offer a stimulating and highly interactive environment consisting of more than 20 research groups investigating different aspects of blood cell lineage development, including normal and malignant hematopoiesis, as well as the support from the state of the art technology platforms and core facilities.

Qualifications

Requirements include a Ph.D. within the fields of Immunology, Hematology, Cell Biology, or Biochemistry received maximum five years before the application deadline and demonstrated communication skills in English. The applicant is expected to have extensive training in immunology, cell biology, molecular biology and/or biochemistry. Expertise in advanced FACS is required, expertise in gene knockdown and human hematopoiesis, as well as experience in working with animal models are advantageous. The applicant is expected to have recent first author publications in internationally renowned peer-reviewed journals and evidence of high productivity. Abilities to work independently, as well as part of a team are essential
