The University of Oxford, Department of Paediatrics is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified Postdoctoral Research Assistant at the Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG), based at the Centre of Clinical Vaccinology and Tropical Medicine (CCVTM).

The overall objective of the post is to develop insights into the immune response to vaccines that will drive the development of the next generation of vaccines.

The postholder will develop immunological assays applied to a variety of clinical trials samples, with a specific focus on B-cell receptor (BCR) repertoire sequencing and the application of proteomics approaches to decipher BCR repertoire after vaccination. You will be responsible for developing projects using samples from clinical trials including ongoing studies of pertussis vaccines. You will manage your own research projects, supervise junior staff, and coordinate internal and external project collaborations.

You will have a relevant PhD and possess experience and a good knowledge of both immunological techniques and high-throughput sequencing technologies. You will have a working knowledge of statistics and command line data analysis. You will be self-driven, highly motivated and have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills as the post involves collaboration within several groups and consortia.

This is a full-time post offered for 36 months in the first instance.
