Group Leader Immunogenomics of inflammatory bowel disease (Spinak Fellow) - Garvan-Weizmann Centre for Cellular Genomics (GWCCG) – Research
Research
Kylie James is a postdoctoral fellow at the Wellcome Sanger Institute in the laboratory of Sarah Teichmann and Junior Research Fellow at Christ's College, University of Cambridge. An immunologist by trade, her research passion lies in understanding how a body’s immune cells behave in a healthy state and how they combat or contribute to disease. In her doctorate at the University of Queensland, she investigated mechanisms shaping the response of T helper cells to malaria. In her current position, Kylie
applies single-cell approaches to study the immune environment of the human gut and importantly how it changes in relation to the neighbouring microbiome. Kylie’s work also contributes to a large international collaboration - the Human Cell Atlas - that aims to create the first comprehensive map of all cells in the human body.
