Antibody landscapes after influenza virus infection or vaccination in Science this week: It may be possible to improve the effectiveness of the seasonal flu vaccine by ‘pre-empting’ the evolution of the influenza virus
Judy Fonville, Sam Wilks, Derek Smith and co-authors this week published in Science: Antibody landscapes after influenza virus infection or vaccination.
Fonville et al. visualise the interplay between protective responses and the evasive influenza virus by a technique called antibody landscape modelling. Landscapes reveal how exposure to new strains of the virus boost immune responses and indicate possibilities for optimising future vaccination programs.
