Making your specific area and topic interesting to people outside your research area can be a huge challenge. Fortunately, there are lots ways to engage an audience and enable them to relate to your subject, in terms of the material and the confidence required for speaking. This session will give you techniques to make your material easier to convey, help you deal with nerves, and make the whole experience more enjoyable for you and your audience. They are applicable for presentations to - and communications with - the public, and also for academic presentations.
